New film from Celine Song, writer/director of Past Lives.
Set against the backdrop of New York City’s luxury-driven dating culture, Materialists follows a love triangle between a matchmaker, her aspiring actor ex-boyfriend, and a charming millionaire.
The film explores the commodification of love in modern dating, the superficial standards of clients, and the internal conflict between genuine connection and financial security.
We screen ten monhtly films a year, from September through June. The current licensing landscape makes it difficult to plan for/book films too far in advance, so we’ve adopted a month-to-month model. This allows us to keep quite current in our programming. Any upcoming films displayed below.
